Over a 100 under privileged, handicapped, and orphan children were entertained for over three hours at a function organised by a visiting Pakistani artist and social worker, Jimmy Engineer, at the Tea Factory Hotel here on August 28.

This is the fourth such programme organised by Jimmy Engineer for the under-privileged, orphans, and handicapped children in Sri Lanka.

Participating children belonged to Mencafet (Retarded Family Education Project) at Nuwara Eliya, SOS Children's Village at Nuwara Eliya, etc.

Jimmy Engineer is organising a series of six programmes in Sri Lanka. Three earlier such programmes had been held at Negombo (August 21), Dambula (August 24), and Kandy (August 26), while the last programme of the six-programme series will be held at the capital city of Colombo on September 4.

Singers and musicians entertained the children with songs and music, while some of the participating children also presented regional dances and presented folk, national songs, and entertained their colleagues, who had got the rare entertainment opportunity of attending such a the function.

A magic show was also organised on the occasion, and the magicians kept the young audience spellbound with their tricks for a long time. After the music and magic show the youngsters were served a sumptuous lunch.-PR
